201 KAR 11:210: after failing any required portion three times, wait at least 30 calendar days from the third fail before retaking or the score is void. That 30-day wait is the KAR, not a line on the live Candidate Testing page.

What to know first

Kentucky does not call the first license salesperson. The Kentucky Real Estate Commission issues a sales associate credential after 96 classroom hours from a Kentucky-approved private school or six academic credit hours in real estate from an accredited college. The sequence trap is the FBI Identification Records Check: 201 KAR 11:430 and the PSI bulletin want fingerprints requested before you schedule PSI. People who book PSI on Friday and IdentoGO on Monday have the wrong order, and an unreadable-print letter is its own reprint — the report itself is valid 90 days. Apply within 60 days of passing both portions. After 60 days the entire exam is voided.

The PSI Kentucky Candidate Information Bulletin (updated 10/1/2023, still the live bulletin at test-takers.psiexams.com/kyre) is the exam bible. Sales Associate General: 80 items / 80 points / 150 minutes. State: 50 items / 50 points / 90 minutes. Both: 130 / 240 minutes. Inactive vs active?: Live Fee Schedule: inactive original $120, active $130. Terminating inactive $30. Inactive licensees who want to reactivate and have not taken Core in four years must take Core (201 KAR 11:210). ERP (extended reporting period) coverage is required to deactivate (KRS 324.395; scored on the state outline).
