KREC's Requirements page is the authoritative source for hours: 96 classroom hours or 6 academic credits for the sales associate; 336 classroom hours or 21 academic credits, including 48 hours / 3 credits in Brokerage Management, for the broker, plus 24 months averaging 20 hours per week. Tennessee's 60 hours and Indiana's 90 hours are neighboring-state requirements and do not replace Kentucky's 96.

PSI gives 80 national items in 150 minutes and 50 Kentucky items in 90 minutes for $100 per registration, and you need 75% on each portion. You must pass both portions within four months of the first pass, and apply within 60 days of passing both or the entire exam is voided. Start the FBI Criminal Background report before you schedule; sitting early voids your scores, and under the KAR the report is valid 90 days. KREC's Fee Schedule lists $130 active / $120 inactive for the original license, $60 for the broker upgrade, $130/$120 for renewal by March 31 of even years, $200 for late renewal, and $1,000 for late CE/CORE. 201 KAR 11:210 still prints $60 original + $60 recovery fund; this guide uses the Fee Schedule amounts.

PLE is 48 named hours (Commission Compliance 3, Agency 6, Contracts 6, Finance 3, Advertising 3, Disclosure 3, Fair Housing 3, Technology & Data Security 3, Risk Management 2, plus 16 elective) within two years of an active license issued after January 1, 2016. After that, you need 6 hours of CE each calendar year (3 in law) and the Kentucky Core Course once every four years, with no substitute. KREC's Reciprocal License page names Florida, Illinois, and Tennessee; the PSI bulletin still lists Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, or Florida, so confirm the current agreement with KREC. Kentucky's requirements are its own: the credential is sales associate, the state exam portion is 50 items, you have 60 days to apply, and Brokerage Management is 48 hours.
