Indiana

Indiana does not issue a salesperson license: entry is already a 90-hour broker after Pearson VUE (not PSI) at scaled 75 on 145 questions for $55, IdentoGO only after the PLA application, and a 30-hour postlicensing fuse in the first two years.

The Indiana Real Estate Commission sits inside the Professional Licensing Agency at 402 W. Washington Street, Room W072, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Phone (317) 234-3009. Email pla5@pla.in.gov. MyLicense One is the portal. Statute: IC 25-34.1; fees in 876 IAC 5; postlicensing in 876 IAC 7-4; CE in 876 IAC 7-5. Pearson VUE — not PSI — delivers the exam under Candidate Handbook #091500 (March 2025) at pearsonvue.com/us/en/in/realestate.html, (800) 274-2717. Pearson replaced PSI effective March 3, 2025. Outlines #091501 are effective March 1, 2025. Walk-ins are not available. OnVUE is not this product.

The credential names are the first trap. Indiana does not issue a salesperson license. IC 25-34.1-3-4.1 and the handbook want a 90-hour Commission-approved broker pre-licensing course; both national and state portions must be passed within one year of course completion. ReIN-Broker is 145 questions in 240 minutes at a scaled 75 for $55: 80 scored national plus 5 pretest, 50 scored state plus 5–10 pretest. Endorsement is ReIN-BrokerEnd: 60 questions, 90 minutes, still $55, after PLA approval, and the 90-hour course is not required. Exam results are then good one year from passing. Apply in MyLicense One at $60, then IdentoGO — a Criminal Background Check dated before the application date is invalid. PLA has cited $38.20 as the IdentoGO package; pay the live cart.

876 IAC 7-4-2 is the postlicensing fuse: 30 hours in the first two years after issuance (6 Indiana transactions, 6 financing, 10 business planning, 5 negotiating and counseling, 1 cultural diversity and fair housing, 2 construction). That 30 fully satisfies two CE years. After that, 12 hours every July 1–June 30. Licenses renew every three years at $60. Managing broker is a later eligibility: 24-hour course, three years of active Indiana broker licensure, and the same ReIN-Broker Pearson sitting. Four of the 12 CE hours must be managing-broker CE in any year you function as one.

Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan sit PSI. Kentucky still says salesperson. Indiana is the 90-hour, Pearson-not-PSI, scaled-75, post-application-IdentoGO, 30-hour-postlicensing, broker-entry jurisdiction on that map.
