Pearson VUE delivers the exam under Candidate Handbook #094500 (July 2024; rev 01/2026) at pearsonvue.com/us/en/ut/realestate.html, (800) 359-9333. The Division's Sales Agent page sets the requirements: 120 hours of approved education at a certified Real Estate Pre-License School as outlined in the Real Estate Pre-License Education Curriculum, the exam within one year of that curriculum, and the application within 90 days of passing. A Nevada 120-hour certificate or Idaho Module 1+2 does not count toward those 120 hours. The license is called sales agent.

Pearson gives 80 national items and 50 Utah-law items, scored on a scale with a passing score of 70, for $69 in a combined four-hour appointment; the handbook does not split the time by portion. If you fail one section, retake that section within six months of passing the other. Fingerprints come after you apply: the Division emails authorization within 1–2 business days, and you then use UTFP at Bountiful / Draper / Ogden / Orem or two FD-258 cards. The Division's Education Waivers page lists the sales-agent fee as $154 ($100 + $12 recovery fund + $32 fingerprint + $10 rap back). Your UtahID must use the Pearson email, or your application will be delayed. Your first active renewal requires the 12-hour New Agent Course plus a 3-hour mandatory course plus 3 more hours, completed by the 15th of the renewal month. RELMS is retired.

The broker license requires a second set of named courses totaling 120 hours: Utah Law 30 (including 3 testing) + Broker Principles 45 (including 4 testing) + Broker Practices 45 (including 4 testing). You also need three years of experience and 60 points, sealed broker-verification envelopes, a scaled 75 on the Pearson exam (80 national + 90 state), and a $160 fee (including an $18 recovery fund fee). Arizona's 90 classroom hours with no reciprocity, Nevada's 120 hours including 18 with a 75% cut, and Wyoming's named-course salesperson license work differently from Utah's. Prior appropriation of water is a tested topic.
