The Qualifying Education page sets the education requirement: a minimum of 168 hours in named courses, or a real-estate major. Colorado abolished the salesperson title, so there is no salesperson application.

PSI gives 80 national items in 120 minutes (60 correct to pass) and 74 Colorado items in 110 minutes (53 correct to pass). Under Rule 2.2.D, an exam taken before you finish the 168 hours does not count. Apply within one year of passing the entire examination. The DRE Fees page lists a $83 application, a $252 base-rate renewal, and a $44.95 exam fee that differs from PSI's $49/$48. Complete CABS fingerprints before the application. You must carry individual E&O to practice.

Independent broker requires two years as a Colorado associate broker. Employing broker adds the 24-hour Brokerage Administration course. Kansas's 30+30 hours, Utah's sales agent license, Wyoming's salesperson license, and New Mexico's associate/qualifying broker are different systems. What sets Colorado apart: there is no salesperson license, the cuts are 60 and 53 correct answers, and water rights are tested.
