Pearson VUE administers the exam under Candidate Handbook #093800 (July 2024) at pearsonvue.com/us/en/ok/realestate.html, (877) 659-3843. You apply to OREC first, and Pearson then emails your Authorization to Test. Fingerprints are taken through IdentoGO under service code 2B7NR3 ($60, paid to IdentoGO, per the FAQ). Proof of citizenship must be a birth certificate or signed U.S. passport; a driver license will not be accepted. Out-of-state applicants designate an Oklahoma resident as registered agent.

The license names are the first thing to get right. Oklahoma does not issue a salesperson license as your first license. Under 59 O.S. § 858-302, you need 90 clock hours of approved basic real estate instruction on a certificate no more than three years old. Then, after passing the Pearson exam and receiving your license, you must complete 45 clock hours of postlicense education before the one-year provisional license first expires. If you miss the 45 hours, you are not entitled to renew. The 2026 Applicant Checklist (effective January 1, 2026) lists the required application attachments: the 90-hour certificate, IdentoGO 2B7NR3 results, citizenship proof, and the $35 processing fee. The FAQ currently lists issuance fees of PSA $100, sales associate $215, broker associate $260, and broker $295.

Pearson's two-for-one pricing is easy to misunderstand. The salesperson national exam (80 scored + 5 pretest items in 150 minutes) and the salesperson state exam (40 scored + 10 pretest items in 90 minutes) cost $75 each, or $75 total when booked on the same order, and both require 70% scaled. The broker national exam (80+5 items / 150 minutes) and broker state exam (50+10 items / 90 minutes) cost $90 under the same two-for-one pricing and require 75% scaled. Attempts are unlimited within the one-year OREC authorization. The Oklahoma Broker Relationships Act accounts for 8 of 40 salesperson state items and 8 of 50 broker state items; trust accounts and broker management appear only on the broker exam. Walk-ins are not accepted, and a TREC score report does not replace the Oklahoma ATT.

To become a broker, you need a separate 90-hour broker course, the 15-hour Broker in Charge course, and two years of experience (or approval through the point-waiver process). Neighboring states' requirements, such as Texas's 180 hours, Arkansas's 60, Kansas's 30+30, and Louisiana's 90 hours with civil law, do not apply in Oklahoma.
