OK real estate licensing guide

Oklahoma

Oklahoma's first license is a 90-hour provisional sales associate with a 3-year certificate, IdentoGO 2B7NR3, an OREC-then-Pearson $75 sitting at 70% scaled, and a 45-hour postlicense fuse that will kill the credential if you treat it as optional CE.

The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission sits at 1915 N. Stiles Avenue, Suite 200, Oklahoma City, OK 73105-4919. Phone (405) 521-3387. Email help@orec.ok.gov. It licenses provisional sales associates, sales associates, broker associates, and brokers under 59 O.S. § 858-101 et seq. Pearson VUE delivers the exam under Candidate Handbook #093800 (July 2024) at pearsonvue.com/us/en/ok/realestate.html, (877) 659-3843. You apply to OREC first. Pearson then emails the Authorization to Test. IdentoGO service code 2B7NR3 ($60 to IdentoGO on the live FAQ) is the fingerprint product. Proof of citizenship is a birth certificate or signed U.S. passport; a driver license will not post. Out-of-state applicants designate an Oklahoma resident as registered agent.

The credential names are the first trap. Oklahoma does not issue a salesperson license as the first wall hanging. 59 O.S. § 858-302 wants 90 clock hours of approved basic real estate instruction, a certificate not more than three years old, and then — after Pearson and issuance — 45 clock hours of postlicense education before the first expiration of the one-year provisional license. Miss that 45 and you are not entitled to renew. The 2026 Applicant Checklist (effective January 1, 2026) freezes the application attachments: 90-hour certificate, IdentoGO 2B7NR3, citizenship proof, $35 processing fee. Issuance currently prints PSA $100, sales associate $215, broker associate $260, broker $295 on the FAQ.

Pearson two-for-one is real and easy to misread. Salesperson national 80 scored + 5 pretest in 150 minutes and salesperson state 40 scored + 10 pretest in 90 minutes are $75 each, or $75 total on the same order, at 70% scaled. Broker national 80+5 / 150 minutes and broker state 50+10 / 90 minutes are $90 two-for-one at 75% scaled. Unlimited attempts inside a one-year OREC authorization. The Oklahoma Broker Relationships Act is 8 of 40 salesperson state items and stays 8 of 50 on the broker paper; trust accounts and broker management are broker-only. Approval to test is not a walk-in, and a TREC score report is not this ATT.

Broker upgrade is a different 90-hour broker course plus 15-hour Broker in Charge plus two years (or the point-waiver path). Texas 180, Arkansas 60, Kansas 30+30, and Louisiana's civil-law 90 are neighbor comparisons, not Oklahoma's thesis.
