Oklahoma Real Estate Broker License requirements

Follow these steps in order. Deadlines and affiliation requirements can make a passed exam unusable if they are missed.

   Document two years or file the point waiver

   Do this before paying for Broker in Charge if the history is messy. Two years as PSA/SA inside five, or the published waiver.

   Complete 90-hour broker course + 15-hour Broker in Charge

   PSA 90 is not the broker 90. Out-of-state: skip the 90 on the checklist, still take Broker in Charge plus 1+1+6.

   IdentoGO 2B7NR3 ($60), OREC application ($35), ATT, Pearson $90 combo at 75% scaled

   80 national / 150 min and 50 state / 90 min. Then portal issuance / firm filings (FAQ $295).

Identification

A Social Security number is required. An ITIN is not confirmed as a substitute.

Residency and identification

Two years of active licensure as a sales associate or provisional sales associate (or equivalent) within the previous five years on the live How-to-Obtain-a-License broker page, or OREC's point-waiver process if you lack the two years. Out-of-state applicants still designate an Oklahoma resident agent, still complete IdentoGO 2B7NR3, and still take 15-hour Broker in Charge plus the 1+1+6 CE trio.

Qualifying education

Separate OREC-approved 90-hour broker prelicense plus the named 15-hour Oklahoma Broker in Charge course. The PSA 90 is not the broker 90. Confirm providers on the Approved Basic and Post Courses page. Out-of-state broker applicants skip the 90 on the 2026 checklist but still take Broker in Charge plus 1 hour Broker Relationship Act, 1 hour Code and Rules, and 6 hours Contracts and Forms. Point waiver is an OREC process for missing experience, not a course waiver.

Education or filing deadline

Confirm live OREC education-validity windows on the broker row. Pearson ATT is one year from OREC approval with unlimited attempts (handbook). 15-hour Broker in Charge is original education, not CE, and is also a CE-adjacent requirement for some in-charge renewals — confirm the live CE grid.

Character review

Same IdentoGO plus application questions 17–22. Broker files pick up trust-account and supervision fitness the state paper actually tests.

Broker affiliation

A broker license is what lets you qualify a firm and sponsor associates. Broker associate is not a full broker. Broker in Charge (15 hours) is named original education required of original broker applicants and of out-of-state broker applicants on the 2026 checklist. Trust-account registration and audits are broker-only state-paper topics (6 items) because the broker is the one OREC will hold.

Does the PSA 90 count as the broker 90?

No. Separate 90-hour broker course plus 15-hour Broker in Charge. The PSA 90 is basic real estate instruction under 858-302, not the broker course.

What if I do not have two years?

OREC publishes a point-waiver process. Read that page before paying for the broker course. It is not a waiver of Broker in Charge.

Is the combo still $75?

Broker combo is $90 two-for-one in handbook #093800. Salesperson is $75. Cuts are 75% scaled for broker, 70% for salesperson.

What is Broker in Charge versus broker associate?

Broker in Charge is a 15-hour named course required of original and out-of-state broker applicants. Broker associate is a license type — an associate who works for a broker — not the 15-hour class.

What extra is on the broker state paper?
