What to know first
Missouri broker is a second 48-hour pre-exam course, not MREP with a new title, and not a second sitting of the salesperson 100/40. The Eligibility Requirements PDF and the PSI handbook want a current and active Missouri salesperson license for at least 24 of the last 30 months immediately preceding the application, a 48-hour pre-exam broker course from an accredited Missouri school on or before the exam date, and both portions of the Missouri broker exam. Complete application within six months of the 48-hour broker-course completion date.
PSI $52 any combination — same dollar as salesperson, different paper. Handbook table: Broker National 90 questions (100 points) at 75% in 150 minutes, with scenario items scored up to two points; Broker State 75 questions (75 points) at 75% in 120 minutes. Attorneys: education and experience waived if they hold an active salesperson license and pass both broker portions, or if unlicensed they first pass both salesperson portions then both broker portions; apply within six months of the first passing broker score; Bar card. Out-of-state salesperson: 24 of last 30 months active salesperson experience, 48-hour broker course, both broker portions, three-month history cert. Out-of-state broker: 24 of last 30 months as salesperson or broker, state portion only (Broker Licensed in another State Examination), three-month history cert, six months from passing the state portion — no 48-hour broker course on that row.
Original under 20 CSR 2250-5.020: $50 application plus $100 broker original issuance ($150). Renewal $75 by June 30 even years. Entity $75. Fingerprints again for an original broker license: MACHS 0004, $40.50. Kansas broker and Illinois managing broker are neighboring products, not this 24-of-30 plus 48 plus 90/75-at-75% paper.
Your path to the license
Follow these steps in order. Deadlines and affiliation requirements can make a passed exam unusable if they are missed.

Hold an active Missouri salesperson license for 24 of the last 30 months

- Not MREP and not a second salesperson 48. Certificate dated on or before the broker exam. Out-of-state broker applicants who already hold a current active broker license sit the state portion only and do not take this 48. Out-of-state salespersons upgrading do take the 48. - Six months from the 48-hour broker-course completion date to submit the complete application. Out-of-state broker (state only): six months from passing the state portion.

- A Missouri broker may operate a firm, hang salespersons, and serve as designated broker for an entity. Entity original is $100 issuance plus the $50 application on the CSR table; entity renewal $75. The salesperson license cannot be converted into a firm by renaming it.

State broker outline is heavier on Business Conduct and Practices (40 items) plus Listing/Offer/Closing forms (12), Licenses 7, Education 2, Disciplinary 8, Brokerage Relationships 6. $52 any combination. Experimental 5–10 eat the clock. Out-of-state broker: state only, still $52.

Mistakes that delay applicants

Booking the salesperson 100/40 as a broker candidate
Different item counts, different cut (75% both portions), different state outline. Same $52 is not the same paper.

Treating MREP as the 48-hour broker course
MREP is the salesperson 24. Broker is a separate 48.

Current and active. Inactive time does not count.

Same receipt-date fuse as salesperson. File or retake the 48.

Renewing affiliated salespersons before the broker/entity is renewed
MREC will not issue the salesperson 2028 hang until the broker (and entity, if any) shows 2028. June 30 is the broker clock; September 30 is the salesperson clock.

Broker/entity renewal window opens April 2026. Register MOPRO first. No transfer, no status change through online renewal.
