Start with the license title: Wyoming still uses salesperson, while Colorado and South Dakota do not. Entry requires Salesperson I + Salesperson II + Wyoming Law from a Commission-listed provider. WREC's obtain-a-license page does not publish a combined clock-hour total, so 80-hour figures from other sources are not official. Active out-of-state licensees skip Salesperson I, take Law + II, and sit the Wyoming state exam. Colorado FA licensees are treated as salespersons here; EA/IA/ER/EI/IR/II licensees are treated as brokers.

Pearson gives 80 national items in 2.5 hours and 40 Wyoming-law items in 1.5 hours, with a scaled 75 required, for $80 at a center / $90 OnVUE per portion. Both portions (or the failed portion) must be passed within six months of the first pass. Apply within 90 days of the later pass with $300, two fingerprint cards + $39 payable to the Attorney General, E&O, a photo, and license histories. Chapter 2 also lists a $20 Recovery and Education Fund fee. Walk-ins are not accepted. Fingerprints are step 1 on the Commission's list, and fingerprint packets from other states, such as IdentoGO, do not count.

An associate broker needs two of the last four years of experience plus the named Broker I / II / Law courses. A responsible broker also needs Wyoming Broker Management (per the handbook, 8 hours within one year of filing), a Wyoming trust account or funds-holder agreement, and a Consent to Examine and Audit. The broker state exam has 50 scored items. Renewal is every three years for $350, with 45 hours of CE for salespersons and associate brokers and 53 hours, including 8 Broker Management, for responsible brokers. Inactive licenses must still be renewed ($370 per WREC's CE page) or they are canceled. Utah's IdentoGO fingerprinting, Colorado's 168 hours, and Montana's 70 hours with a $95 Pearson exam are useful comparisons, but they do not apply in Wyoming.
